The puppies are finally here. Six arrived beginning in the early morning hours. Three black tri females, a red tri male, and two blue merle males.

Lock Wins Reserve Winner's Dog at the ASCA Nationals

Lock just returned home from ASCA nationals in Waco, TX. He had a very successful show. He was the open black class winner at a preshow and at the nationals show. He then went Reserve winner's dog at a preshow and then again won Reserve Winner's dog at the national show. Thanks to Libby Stibley for expertly handling him. Win photo coming soon!

MACH Dodger


Dodger achieved the title of Master Agility Champion (MACH) on October 10th, at an AKC trial in Lincoln Nebraska. Under former world team coach Daniel Dege who was the course designer and judge, Dodger qualified in 5 of 6 runs, which was well above the average for that weekend.

Doubloon, Lock, Tango and Brumby score over the weekend.


Over the past weekend the Iron Rose Dogs did well. Doubloon took a 5 point ASCA major. The same show Lock went Reserve winner's dog to Doubloon. Tango made her asca debut and took a major reserve from a large group of girls. Last but not least, Brumby made is first showing in the herding. He qualified his first two runs in sheep to complete his started sheep title. He then went on and qualified on his last exhibition run with the sheep. He improved his score on each run. He will continue training to begin his open herding in the fall.

Darcy's puppies


Darcy's puppies arrived on May 19th. They are now starting to try to move around. No eyes open yet but it won't be long. The litter consists of one lone dark blue boy surrounded by a bunch of girls. All puppies and mom are doing great. More pictures to come.

Bryn Virgil litter 1 day old


I would like to introduce you to the Bryn Virgil litter, born May 28th, 2010. The litter consists of 7 puppies; 5 females and 2 males. From left to right: Blue boy, lighter blue girl, black boy, darker blue girl, then the three black girls. Mom and pups are doing great after a c-section to deliver the 8th puppy which was stuck and unfortunately did not make it.

Lock is Best Opposite Sex in Sweeps at the USASA nationals 2010


Lock made his USASA nationals debut this year. He won best opposite sex in sweeps! Thanks Libby for handling him.

Doubloon went to the USASA Nationals. He placed 4th in his class in the Sweeps. Thanks to Terri, Libby and Selena who helped to get him ready to go.

Misty goes BOB


Misty was shown at the SCASC show this past weekend. She did very well under breeder judge Leslie Sorenson. She took a 5 point major and went Best of Breed over specials. Misty is one point away from finishing her ASCA championship.

Lock Takes His First ASCA Win



Lock takes a Major

Over this past weekend the Iron Rose dogs did well. Lock won winner's dog. He beat his half brother, Doubloon, for the 5 point major. Doubloon got reserve winner's dog out of the 6-9 mo class. He was determined to give his brother a run for his money! Lock then went on to get best of winner's and Best Opposite Sex over several specials. Cha Ching also made her first showing out of the puppy class. She showed awesome on her first outing.

Karros, Jackie and Sax got to chase sheep around when they were just 7 weeks old. Karros is now owned by Laura and Dave Gillice, Jackie went off to train as a SAR (search and rescue) dog wth Brad Finch and Sax is now loved by Amy and Mark.

Hereditary Cataract Tests Clear for all 4 Puppies Tested


Because Dodger carries one copy of the Hereditary Cataract gene, we opted to test our four show prospects in order to make the most informed decision on which ones would go to show homes. To our surprise and delight, all four puppies tested came back clear of any mutation.
